Brian Christenson

Virtual Client Controller

Brian harbors a deep commitment to learning and adapting to new situations, something that has made him an asset to Zabel & Co. and to his many satisfied clients. His passion lies in helping people, whether it’s the clients he serves or his coworkers. This is what drives him to go above and beyond to ensure that he has a positive impact and exceeds expectations.

It all started when Brian was young. His math skills lent themselves to helping his father, a serial entrepreneur, manage the books for his many ventures. Along the way, he developed a passion for problem-solving and finding unique answers to difficult accounting issues.

Brian Christenson brings over 35 years of experience to his role as the Controller of Virtual Client Services for Zabel & Co., LLC. His mastery of software like QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage makes him well-positioned to assess client finances and help businesses clean up their books in preparation for tax filing.

After 30 years spent managing accounting for employers in the auto repair industry, Brian joined the team at Zabel & Co. in 2017, and he brings a unique perspective to the company. Anyone who works in the auto industry understands how important it is to keep up with changing technologies and legislation. Brian applies the same principle to the field of accounting. Says Brian, “Just like cars have continued to change over the years, the way accounting is done has changed, too. Training to keep up is vital.”

These days, he enjoys the challenges of finding personalized solutions for clients across a wide variety of industries. He remains thoroughly engaged in learning all he can about clients in order to best serve their needs, and he’s particularly skilled at untangling bad bank records. When clients recognize the effort he puts in and the positive results he generates, it’s the icing on the cake at a job he loves.

Brian also supports organizations that help to lift children out of challenging circumstances, including Teen Challenge and Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). In his free time, he enjoys physical activities like hunting and chopping wood. He also harbors a love of learning, which drives him to read and explore new topics – he’s currently obsessed with learning all he can about cryptocurrency.

On the weekends, Brian can be found smoking roast or ribs on one or more of his three smokers, and he enjoys good movies and anime. Brian’s core values include faith and a positive attitude, and he strives to do his best for loved ones and clients alike.
